It could be a valentine....

So I got sidetracked; I often do when I am sitting amidst my pile of Luna Girl cd roms. I'll get back to valentines tomorrow....

Art Creations Friday Challenge 8

Still practicing my digital art lessons! But I cannot seem to let go of the tactile elements of conventional card making, i.e. ribbons, buttons, and brads! I'm okay with that. That is where my heart is. But who knew erasing layers could be so engrossing?

This background did not exactly suggest Valentines - I forced it, because on January 1st I am full throttle into Valentines, my favorite card making holiday. Christmastime is too stressful for me to send cards, but six weeks later I try to catch up with old friends by sending Valentines - after all, Valentine's Day is all about the cards!

Art Creations Friday Challenge 7

I'm late with my entry but I did make a card using this great background! This one is exciting for me because this is the first time I have done any digital art using layers. My 21 year old daughter was home for college and spent a few hours teaching me the basics of layering. Until now I had only used Photoshop to alter one picture at a time. This is an eye opening new experience! Thank you, Holly, my beautiful and generous angel for encouraging me to open my horizons!

Art Creations Friday Challenge 6

Baby, you can drive my car....

Using the lovely background supplied by Art Creations Friday and a couple of new stamps I got for Christmas (from the Queen's Dresser Drawers and B-Line Designs), I made this vintage style card. Thanks for looking.

Weddings and More Weddings

I have finally finished my series of wedding cards. So many weddings this past summer - and I am six months late in sending.

More of the Lady...

Sometimes I just can't give up on a good thing; so I had to play again with the "elegant lady" image. I wanted to do something with lots of pieces....

Art Creations Friday Challenge

My first post! I have been tinkering for some time with the idea of creating my own personal blog. This blog has been formatted for five months just sitting in my computer waiting. Today I have a reason to begin. Three friends and I have been getting together every Wednesday for three years to make cards and our work has evolved and grown greatly by working together. Recently one of my friends sent a link to "Art Creations Friday" and I felt I had found Heaven. Beautiful images to begin with and exquisite images afterwards. I am inspired to offer up my modest sample to these incredibly talented artists and hope they will let me join in the game!
I cut out the lady’s head and framed it in a circular frame – a technique I learned at www.amazingpapergrace.com; then I framed her body with a Sizzix frame die which I also embossed using Cuttlebug’s Divine Swirl. Finally I mounted the head over the body with raised foam tape and embellished with pearls. Paper from Graphics 45 – Times Nouveau Collection.
